Industrial Worker Inspecting Heavy Machinery

Excellence in the casting process

A casting programme succeeds or fails long before the first pour. The decisions that matter — parting line, draft angle, feeding system, allowance for machining — are made at the pattern design stage.

At Inmore the same engineers who design the tooling own the process window it runs in. That continuity is what keeps first articles close to the simulation, and what keeps a part number stable across years of repeat orders.

  • Simulate filling and solidification before cutting tooling
  • Log charge chemistry and pouring parameters per heat

  • Verify first article dimensionally and metallurgically

Where technology actually pays off

Automation pays back fastest where it removes variation rather than labour: pouring, molding, fettling and dimensional inspection. Applied anywhere else it mostly adds complexity.

The test we apply before any investment is simple — does this make the ten-thousandth casting more like the first?

Training and skills on the foundry floor

Foundry skill is not learned from a manual. Inmore pairs experienced melter, molders and fettlers with apprentices on the line, and rotates engineers through the pattern shop, the laboratory and the machining division so that decisions are made by people who have seen the consequences.
